#34: Voting in Cuba is Mandatory
In Cuba, voting is legally mandatory for all citizens aged 16 and older, provided they are not incarcerated or suffering from a serious illness. While participation is technically required, the nature of elections in Cuba differs significantly from those in multiparty democracies.

There are no general elections in the conventional sense, and only one political party—the Communist Party—is legally recognized. Candidates are vetted through state-sanctioned committees, and the President is not elected by popular vote but instead selected by the National Assembly, a legislative body aligned with government leadership.
