#36: Ernest Hemingway Lived in Cuba
Ernest Hemingway, the celebrated American novelist and journalist known for his crisp, economical prose and his famed “iceberg theory” of writing, spent two decades living in Cuba, despite political tensions and travel restrictions.

Drawn to the island’s coastal charm and vibrant atmosphere, Hemingway made his home at Finca Vigía, just outside Havana, where he penned portions of some of his most iconic works, including The Old Man and the Sea. His adventurous spirit, love of the sea, and immersion in local life made him a beloved figure among Cubans.
