What Was Amelia Doing?
Amelia Earhart remains one of the most famous aviators in history. She disappeared somewhere over the Pacific Ocean with her navigator, Fred Noonan, in July 1937. To this day, we don’t know the record-breaking pioneer’s fate. Her body and plane have never been found. As with any other mystery, many conspiracy theories have popped up surrounding Earhart’s disappearance.

One of the more interesting theories is that Earhart was a secret US spy. Conspiracy theorists say that she was shot down by the Japanese military because she was taking photos of enemy locations. The area she was supposedly flying in lines up with this theory, but Japan has always denied that they shot down a plane or took Earhart prisoner.
